Tennis fanatics should book their tickets now as the BB&T Atlanta Open returns to Atlanta from July 30 through August 6. This week long event will be held at Atlantic Station and will feature a competitive tournament among some of the sport’s best. The event kicks off by revisiting an old tennis classic from the 1996 Olympics in a rematch between gold-medal winner Andre Agassi and Sergi Bruguera.

The rematch taking place on July 31 will set the tone for the rest of the tournament and serve as a treat to fans of historic tennis matches. Following this exhibition, opening ceremonies will begin on August 1. Matches will continue throughout the week and will include the two-time defending champion John Isner and former top 10 Spaniard Fernando Verdasco.

Once players have been properly eliminated, the quarterfinals will be held on August 5 and post-match fireworks will be on display once the quarterfinals conclude. The semifinals will take place August 6 and narrow the tournament players down to two. The final match will be August 7 and be followed by a day in celebration of the tournament champion.

The Atlanta Open is an ATP World Tour 250 Event and will consist of both a singles and doubles tournament. There will be 28 competitors participating in the singles matches with four of those players coming from the qualifying rounds held July 30 and 31. The doubles tournament will feature 16 teams.

This tournament continues to serve as an opportunity to discover the best of the best among tennis players. The Atlanta Open serves as the third event in a nine-tournament series that will ultimately lead to the US Open. This year is the thirteenth year for this series, and Atlanta will be the last ATP event until the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
