The Downtown Southern Food Walk is the essential guide to southern food featuring 15 delicious tastings from seven food stops in Atlanta’s historic downtown neighborhoods. The three-and-a-half hour small group food tour will introduce you to chefs and food vendors in restaurants and markets where locals eat and shop. These tours take place Thursday through Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. and 11:30 on Sunday.
You’ll try soul food, barbecue, Lowcountry cuisine, Creole-style candies, and today’s newest Southern specialties, while learning about the history and regional variations of Southern food. Mouth-watering food samples, enough for lunch, are served from some of Atlanta’s best locally owned restaurants and food shops. Along the way, the food experts will entertain and educate you with stories and insights into the Civil Rights Movement, Atlanta yesterday and today, and the city’s food culture.
