On January 13, 2016, HomeAid Atlanta announced the recipients of its tenth annual awards during the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s Installation and Awards program at the Hyatt Atlanta Perimeter at Villa Christina.

Founded in 2001, HomeAid Atlanta is a nonprofit organization that builds new lives for homeless families and individuals through housing and community outreach. Awards were presented for Builder of the Year, Trade Partner of the Year and Volunteer of the Year. These awards honor organizations and individuals demonstrating great commitment to HomeAid Atlanta.

The three award recipients were:

  • 2015 Builder of the Year – Brian Canady

BBC Builders Brian Canady volunteered as the builder captain for HomeAid’s Jesus Set the Captive Free (JSCF) project. When complete, this project will house six veterans as they rebuild their
lives. Brian demonstrated great resourcefulness; to date his efforts have saved JSCF over $28,000 on the $50,000 renovation project. Brian is an active member of the Greater Atlanta HBA, and he currently serves on the Board of Directors.

  • 2015 Trade Partner of the Year – Boral Industries

Boral Industries, Inc. is a long-time supporter of HomeAid Atlanta. Since 2006, this company has made in-kind donations to many of HomeAid’s shelter projects as well as acting as a corporate sponsor. In 2015 alone, Boral contributed $15,000 worth of bricks, sand and mortar for HomeAid’s major build projects at Rainbow Village and The Drake House.  Their generosity extends beyond HomeAid Atlanta; Boral donates to HomeAid America as well.

  • 2015 Volunteer of the Year – Atlanta’s Best New Homes TV

Atlanta’s Best New Homes TV volunteered to produce HomeAid’s 2015 informational video.  The team assisted by providing direction, filming and editing the video. This generous contribution
assists with better communication to raise awareness about the issue of homelessness and how HomeAid Atlanta combats that issue.

Congratulations to the 2015 award recipients on a great year with HomeAid Atlanta. For more information about HomeAid Atlanta, visit www.homeaidatlanta.org.
