This week’s Around Atlanta edition of the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio show features Stone Mountain Park’s Snow Mountain. Hosts Todd Schnick and Bryan Nonni talk to the park’s Public Relations Manager, Jeanine Jones.

Jeanine is an Atlanta native; she grew up in Marietta, went to the laser show at Stone Mountain as a kid, and once she graduated from college, she immediately started working at Stone Mountain State Park. She originally started out in the special events department, and 19 years later, she has worked her way up to where she is now.

For those not familiar with Stone Mountain, it is 15 miles east of Atlanta, with 3,200 total acres and in the middle of the park, there is a huge granite outcropping. “There is so much to do that you can almost have a different experience each time you go,” says Jeanine.

Recreationally, people use the park as an outdoor gym. Visitors can buy a $40 parking pass that will last for 12 months. With 15 miles of hiking trails, a five mile circle within the park, and a 10 mile circle within the park, there is something that everyone can enjoy.

Atlantans can go and experience “Snow Mountain” right now, which is a fun family event for all ages to experience snow at the park. Stone Mountain has taken the 1,000-foot lawn they use for the laser show every year and turned it into a fun, snowy adventure. There are single tubing and family tubing options available, as well as a 400-foot run. There is a snow play area for children and adults of all ages to build snowmen, have a snowball fight and enjoy the wintry atmosphere. Small children are also welcome to come and enjoy this opportunity in our “Little Angels” area for children three and under.
