This week on Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio’s All About Real Estate show, builder Traton Homes joins our hosts in-studio. Hosts Todd Schnick and Carol Morgan sat down with Josh Hilscher, vice president of sales and marketing and Kerri Peek, new homes specialist with Traton Homes. Kerri is new to the Traton team and is native to Atlanta.

This year marks the 43rd year that Traton has been building new homes, which proves that they have been able to stand the test of time. The builder has homes all over metro Atlanta, has been experiencing a period of tremendous growth throughout the last few years and is now expanding into the Charlotte, North Carolina area. The housing boom that the Atlanta real estate market is experiencing means that Traton is currently selling more homes than ever before.

Traton Homes has a number of communities in the Atlanta area. The Reserve at Old Atlanta is one of Traton’s newest communities. Located in Forsyth County, this community offers children the chance to attend Lambert High School, one of the area’s top-rated schools. This community also offers unparalleled amenities, which go a long way with interested buyers in the Atlanta real estate market. Homeowners will be able to walk from their doorstep into 36 acres of open green space and walking trails. This gated community will also feature lighted tennis courts and a clubhouse with a junior Olympic size swimming pool, a kid’s pool with fun water features and a playground. Homes at The Reserve at Old Atlanta will feature three-sides architectural detail, three-car side-entry garages and gourmet kitchens with maple stained cabinetry and granite countertops.

The Traton community of Vinings Park East is also new. This is a townhouse community that sits behind Cumberland Mall, right in the heart of the new Atlanta Braves ballpark area. Homes in this community are priced from the high $300,000s and range from 2,200 square feet to more than 4,000 square feet in size. In addition, all of the homes in this community have the option for an elevator. While this community just opened, it has already received an overwhelming response from interested buyers.

Maclean’s Crossing is another new Traton home community opened just this year. Maclean’s Crossing is a small enclave of 10 homes located in Roswell within the Cobb County limits, allowing residents to take advantage of the low Cobb County taxes. This community also experienced unheard of popularity upon its opening, with agents selling seven homes in one week. There are two homes remaining in this community and pricing starts from the $680,000s.

One of Traton Homes’ longest-running communities is Lochshire. After selling out of its original lots, a second phase of 45 homes is now under construction. Located in Acworth just off Wade Green Road, homes in this community start from the high $200,000s and range in size from 3,000 to 3,800 square feet.

As we mentioned earlier, Traton is also expanding into the Charlotte area. In researching the area prior to the expansion, Traton found that many of its design ideas and details translated well to the Charlotte market.

On top of the expansion, the builder its started its own custom homebuilding company: Nellie Poston Custom Homes. This new division of Traton will serve the home buyer looking for a slightly higher price point, from $800,000 to $2 million. The custom home division has already constructed homes on Paces Ferry Road, Inman Drive and more. This convenience is popular in a city like Atlanta as the custom home process can sometimes involve working with many different vendors, which can prove to be overwhelming. The Traton custom home division simplifies the process and still provides customers one-on-one customer contact and a unique home.
