HomeAid Atlanta invites members of the media and the public to celebrate the groundbreaking of a new phase at Phoenix Pass in Conyers. The groundbreaking will be held this Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 10 until 11 a.m. at Phoenix Pass, which is located on Sigman Road in Conyers. The event will feature an appearance by Conyers Mayor Randall S. Mills, representatives from Phoenix Pass, the HomeAid Atlanta board and the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association.

The groundbreaking will start development on a new eight-unit apartment building being constructed by HomeAid Atlanta and Phoenix Pass with the help of a $60,000 grant from the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation. HomeAid Atlanta assisted Phoenix Pass in constructing the first eight-unit building and community center in 2010, which also received a $60,000 grant from the Jon Bon Jovi Soul Foundation.

Phoenix Pass serves families experiencing temporary homelessness by giving them an opportunity to re-establish their self-sufficiency in a residential setting. The new complex will allow Phoenix Pass to accommodate up to 90 people at any given time. Homeless families can have access to this housing for up to two years, and they will also receive case management, life skills classes, a mentorship program and aftercare programs.
