Moving to a new community is difficult. Uprooting your life and deciding to live in a foreign place can be physically and emotionally exhausting, especially for active adults looking to finally settle down in a retirement community. Soleil Laurel Canyon keeps this is mind when creating its monthly event calendar for its residents, both current and new.

Every month, Soleil’s lifestyle directors host a “Fourth Friday” – an event that encourages residents to come to the Soleil ballroom for an informal gathering and potluck to meet and chat with their neighbors every fourth Friday of the month. Soleil’s lifestyle directors provide plates, napkins and ice buckets ready for any appetizers and beverages residents would like to share. Residents are encouraged to wear their Soleil name badges to help facilitate mingling and getting to know one another.

And new residents can tell there’s just something different about Soleil. In a recent feature in Atlanta Magazine, recent home buyers, Jane and Nat Copenhaver, say the best part about Soleil is the people who live there, and they enjoy gathering at the monthly events to meet more people.
