From baking cookies to watching A Christmas Story, we all have traditions that make the holidays special. For metro Atlanta residents, there are even more opportunities to create holiday memories with special events available throughout the city and its suburbs.

Today, Traton Homes shares a list of magical holiday fun that you won’t want to miss this year.

The Nutcracker

Celebrating its 55th season, the Atlanta Ballet invites you to attend a performance of “The Nutcracker” at the Fabulous Fox Theatre. As the oldest ballet company in the country, the Atlanta Ballet is known for its stunning rendition of “The Nutcracker”, which has become a time-honored tradition for many metro Atlanta and State of Georgia residents. Tickets are currently on sale with prices starting as low as $20.

Ice Skating

From the rinks at Centennial Park and Atlantic Station to the IceForum in Kennesaw, there are ample opportunities to lace up your skates and enjoy some family fun on the ice this holiday season. All of these rinks are currently open for public skating with times varying throughout the week.

Snow Mountain

Stone Mountain has turned into a winter wonderland with the opening of its annual Stone Mountain Christmas and Snow Mountain. Highlights of a Stone Mountain Christmas include two million lights at the quaint mountain village of Crossroads, as well as a variety of live shows and a nightly parade that ends with fireworks. Additionally, Snow Mountain is Atlanta’s only snow park allowing families to enjoy snow tubing and play areas where you can build a snowman or make a snow angel. After spending time in the snow, visitors can warm up by the fire while roasting marshmallows.

Garden Lights at the Atlanta Botanical Garden

Atlanta Botanical Garden’s annual electrical extravaganza is back with spectacular light displays throughout the Garden. With new color schemes, as well as favorites such as the Orchestral Orbs, Radiant Rainforest and more, Garden Lights is one of the most stunning holiday traditions available in Atlanta. Going on now through Jan. 3, this event is perfect for the entire family, but make sure to dress warmly! For more information, including admission prices, visit www.atlantabotanicalgarden.org.
