Home South Communities’ Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Steve Palmer, is today’s All About Real Estate guest on Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio. Home South Communities currently builds new homes in the northern suburbs of Atlanta that appeal to first, second and even third-time move-up buyers. According to Palmer, move-up home buyers are primarily interested in the homes location, the ease of multigenerational living and maximizing the home for its value. To meet these needs, Home South Communities first considers the school system and its test scores when they search for a new location to build. In some areas, Home South is even so granular as to check test scores all the way down to the elementary school level to ensure homeowners will be sending their children to the top schools in the area.
With multigenerational living arrangements on the rise, Home South Communities’ standard of providing bedroom and bath suites on the first floor has become increasingly more popular. Most of their plans offer first floor bedrooms, which are perfect for kids returning home after college or grandparents and in-laws residing in the home. After the recent economic downturn, it’s no surprise to see metro Atlanta home buyers expecting to receive more value for their money. One way that Home South incorporates value into its homes is by providing flexible home plans. Almost all of the plans offered by the builder include a two-story family room with the option to enclose it to create a second-story living area or additional bedroom and bathroom. In fact, many of Home South Communities’ plans are flexible and can be anywhere from four to six bedrooms.
