The Springs at Sterling on the Lake residents Darrell and Tina Crews’ new home search led them, in quite a unique way, to this outstanding, master-planned Hall County community in which they now call home. Originally from Paducah, Kentucky, Darrell and Tina decided to move to Georgia to be closer to their son, an employee of Atlanta-based Delta Airlines.

When Darrell and Tina took a weekend trip with their son to visit friends that lived on Lake Lanier, they instantly fell in love with the area and decided to begin their home search there.

When the Crews visited the Sterling on the Lake community for the first time, Tina’s initial impression upon entering was a feeling of peace and tranquility within the community. She loved the stunning, quality-built homes that had beautiful, well-kept yards and the amazing scenery that was provided by the lakes and green spaces that greeted her around every corner. They both fell in love with a house built by Stonecrest Homes, and when they found out the builder would be building a home focused on the active adult lifestyle within the Sterling community, it sounded perfect for them.

Tina remembers seeing the future site of her new home when it was nothing more than an empty field. But within just a short time, Stonecrest Homes had constructed the first model homes for The Springs at Sterling on the Lakes community. After viewing the model homes and deciding that the Cypress home design was the perfect size and floor plan, construction on Darrell and Tina’s new home began.

“The building process here was so incredibly smooth and easy,” said Tina. “They are an easy builder to work with, and unlike most builders, they will work with you to tweak things in the home design to fit your needs and to make the house just perfect for you.”

Stonecrest Homes had their home built and move-in ready in just three short months, and the Crews became the second family to move into The Springs community inside Sterling on the Lake. Tina and Darrell have made a whole bundle of new friends since that day last March. No one has lived in the The Springs at Sterling on the Lake for more than two years and there are still new people moving in every month, so they are constantly forming new friendships. Neighbors in the community regularly go out to eat together or have each other over to visit. Just this week, Darrell and Tina had their neighbors over for an evening gathering to celebrate the beginning of fall and to enjoy the amazing weather that came with it.

Now that they have settled into their new home and the lifestyle that Sterling on the Lake offers, Darrell and Tina love every minute of it. They have a ski boat they take to Lake Lanier, which is just minutes away. Tina loves being just a 15 minute drive from the Mall of Georgia and they both love the outstanding amenities that are available to residents, as well as the community activities and events. In fact, one of the Crews’ favorite events is happening soon, the Harvest Balloon Festival, which is held every fall, and is the largest community event at Sterling on the Lake.

“It is a beautiful sight to see all of those balloons lit up over the lake at night,” said Tina. “And it reminds me of why I fell in love with this community in the first place.”
