LGI Homes, a new home builder based out of Texas, recently filed for a $125 million IPO in the hopes of becoming a publicly-traded company.

Started in 2003, LGI Homes has been on a growth spurt and has recently entered several new markets, including Atlanta. With the U.S. home builder confidence nearing an eight-year high last month, it is no surprise that the builder continues to expand. LGI Homes’ revenue has tripled from 2010 through 2012 to $143.4 million. Since 2012, LGI Homes has sold 1,062 homes, almost 2.5 times more than they did in 2010. Additionally, since 2003, they have sold more than 5,000 homes.

LGI Homes,  new to the Atlanta real estate market, currently has two communities open in the Atlanta area — Avondale Springs in Conyers and Maple Park in Gainsville. Both neighborhoods have around 20 homes either under construction or complete. Additionally they are under contract for two new neighborhoods, one in Barrow County and one in Clayton. These two should be open in November.
