Christian Torgrimson with Pursley Friese Torgrimson is this week’s guests on the award-winning Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio show. Christian discusses eminent domain law, and her interview is followed by a discussion with Julie Edwards of the Junior Service League of Woodstock.

Christian Torgrimson is the managing partner of Pursley Friese Torgrimson, which is a relatively new women-owned, women-run and women-managed team of attorneys and professionals here in Atlanta.

Pursley Friese Torgrimson specializes in ownership, leasing, development and management of commercial real estate. Christian’s specialty is eminent domain law, which she has been practicing for 14 years. Eminent domain or property condemnation is when the government needs private property to complete a public project. Christian represents property owners in these cases to help them navigate the web of procedures to maximize compensation.

One of the most interesting projects she has recently worked on related to the 14th Street bridge replacement project, which impacted numerous properties. Her client was a large shopping center developer looking to redevelop their property into a mixed-use development. However, the 14th Street bridge replacement impacted their project by taking away most of the access to the development. However, Christian worked with them to not only recapture a driveway on 14th Street into the development , but also increase their compensation.

Our next guest is Julie Edwards who is the chairperson for special service projects and charitable contributions with the Junior Service League of Woodstock. Julie joined the Junior Service League after searching for a way to give back and get involved when she moved to the area from California seven years ago.

The Junior Service League of Woodstock is an organization of 30 women who truly have a heart for their community of Cherokee County.

One of their most popular annual events is the Woodstock Tour of Homes, which will be held November 9 and 10 this year. They are currently in the beginning phases of planning for this wonderful event, so they are seeking four to eight homes/homeowners who are willing to have their home professionally decorated and toured by 2,000 to 3,000 women over the course of the weekend. Since they are in the planning stages, they are also looking for smaller or lesser known organizations to donate all of their proceeds to.
