If you’re looking for ways to celebrate the red, white and blue this Fourth of July, you won’t want to miss celebrations happening close to Manget in Marietta.

The city of Marietta will kick off their festivities at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 4 with a parade including 110 entries and more than 2,000 participants. The parade will start at Roswell Street Baptist Church and end at North Marietta Parkway. After the parade, enjoy a day long festival including a Scott Thompson concert at 12 p.m., a bell ringing ceremony at 2 p.m., float contest awards at 2:15 p.m., Greg Bates concert at 8 p.m. and of course, a spectacular fireworks display at dark.

Want a “bird’s eye view” of the parade and fireworks? Head on over to the Strand Theatre, who will open their rooftop terrace to the first 100 people for the parade ($10 per person) and first 120 people ($15 per person) for the fireworks display.

If you’re looking to support a good cause while spending the day with friends and family, you can also check out the Red, White and Big Blue celebration hosted by the Marietta Schools Foundation. This event, which will be held at Northcutt Stadium, will begin at 6 p.m. and include live music, Williamson Brothers BBQ, Rita’s Ice, fun houses and one of the best views of the Marietta fireworks display. Admission is $3 and BBQ is $6 per  plate. All proceeds will go towards their Mentoring for Leadership program.
