Ian Silverstone and Trevor Shonkwiler with The Water’s Edge Group and J.D. Espana with Piedmont Residential are this week’s guests on Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio. Ian and Trevor share how what they’re building has changed with the market, while J.D. talks about fantastic communities and homes from Piedmont Residential.

Ian Silverstone is the CEO and Trevor Shonkwiler is the President of the Water’s Edge Group. Ian has a background in industrial production and started in residential construction in 2000. Trevor started off his career as an intern for Harcrest Homes and has since formed his own company.

Water’s Edge Group does everything from commercial buildings to townhome communities. They started out in high-end homes from  $2 million dollars, moved on to renovations and commercial work after the housing economy went south and have most recently become famous for their work at The Preserve at Fischer Mansion. This year, the company was recognized for their hard work at this community by winning more than five OBIE awards including Community of the Year for Attached Homes and Best Model in several price points.

Our next guest is J.D. Espana who is the President of Piedmont Residential. J.D. started in commercial real estate in 1994, made the switch to homebuilding in 2000 and ultimately founded Piedmont Residential in 2007. Since its beginning, Piedmont Residential has gone from selling two homes a year to more than 85 homes in 2012.

Piedmont Residential currently has 17 communities that they are building in across the metro area, but six of these are in their final stages. If you want to live within walking distance to Marietta Square, one home remains at Brown’s Park in downtown Marietta. If Smyrna is more your style, then Walker Street Manor has one home left within walking distance to Smyrna Market Village. In Cherokee County, buyers can find homes at one of their newest communities, Parc at Kellogg Creek off of Highway 92, from the $160,000s, or at Manor at Bridgemill, which offers 78 total lots, from the $230,000s.

For more information on floor plans and trends at all Piedmont Residential’s communities, listen to the full podcast and visit their website.
