One of my all time favorite Fall events is Art in the Park on the historic Marietta Square. It returns this Labor Day weekend, September 4-6, 2010, for three days of outdoor artistic enjoyment.

This festival attracts some of Marietta’s best artistic talent, as well as artists from across the nation for a juried art show and artist market.  More than 30,000 festival attendees  will enjoy perusing over 130 artists who showcase their talent through media including painting, photography, pottery, sculpture and jewelry. Large crowds are expected so plan to arrive early to get the best parking. Free parking is available, see below.

In addition to the artist market, visitors can stroll the Interactive Art Alley and create their own make-and-take projects. This is the perfect break for small children and adults alike.

Art in the Park is held in Glover Park on the Historic Marietta Square. The square is a family-friendly destination brimming with restaurants, quaint shops and culture. Attractions like the Cobb/Marietta Museum of Art, the Marietta Museum of History, the Strand Theatre and the Theatre in the Square accommodate the public with special operating hours. Attendees can also enjoy Brew With a View featuring explorative music by Jeff Butzer live on The Strand’s rooftop.
