Atlanta division for award-winning national home builder teams up with Crossroads Community Ministries to feed those in need for the holidays.

A leader in volunteer and philanthropic efforts within the home building industry, ever since its launch in Houston in 1976, community involvement has been a founding principle at David Weekley Homes. From back-to-school supplies drives to an annual community build month, all award-winning homebuilder’s divisions in 19 markets across the U.S. stand committed to uniting its team members with an extended family of Homeowners, Homebuyers and community partners to improve lives. From now through November 18, David Weekley Homes’ Atlanta division is requesting the donation of canned and non-perishable items at five of its model homes throughout the metro area and at its Atlanta Division headquarters. On November 18, the Division office will also collect frozen turkeys in hopes of giving families in need a very Happy Thanksgiving.

“We are excited to team up with Crossroads Community Ministries to identify families in need within the metro Atlanta community for this year’s Giving Thanks, Giving Back Thanksgiving Drive,” said Adam Cornett, Atlanta Division President for David Weekley Homes.

“This marks our tenth year of hosting this drive, so we’re hoping for some really outstanding results. It’ll be no small task. Last year, our CARE Team collected 111 frozen turkeys, 11 hams and more than 5000 pounds of canned goods for families in need. All told, an estimated 750 people benefited from that effort. We’d love to impact even more lives this year, so we’re calling on all our homeowners, friends in real estate and neighbors to all our communities to drop off non-perishable items during the drive, culminating in our frozen turkey collection day at our division office on the 18th. This is a wonderful opportunity to put the ‘happy’ back into the holidays for dozens of deserving families.”
