Chris and Clif Poston, principals with Traton Homes, a family-owned premier Atlanta home builder, join the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio podcast to celebrate 50 years in business, upcoming developments in and around metro Atlanta and recent accolades. This low inventory could potentially drive a strong housing market in the next few years. Housing agents and homeowners must be flexible in the home buying process due to continuous changes and shortages of materials and other home building supplies.
Chris Poston remarked, “We are booming and doing good, but the supply hasn’t caught up with us.”
Homebuilders are recovering from the recent lumber shortage, a result of the pandemic, and encountering new issues such as vinyl shortages and increased pricing for copper. An outcome of this is a surge in rental housing, an area that Traton Homes and its partners are actively pursuing to meet the current market’s needs.
In the next few years, Traton Homes expects to build 1,000 units of build-to-rent housing on the edges of Atlanta in the 1,500 to 2,000 square foot range, priced at $1 per square foot. In the current marketplace, many people prefer to rent a home and access sought-after amenities in place of purchasing a home. This lifestyle option was not previously as prevalent and is attractive to many buyers.
A recent exciting development is the expansion of Traton Homes into the panhandle of Florida in Walton and Bay counties, a hot and surging market.
