It’s that time of the year again, where closets are cleaned, floors are scrubbed and everyone’s homes are spotless.  Not everyone can stay on top of spring cleaning and that’s okay, so here are some tips to help ensure your house is at its cleanest.

  1. Fill your dishwasher with anything but dishes: Dishwashers can clean almost anything you want deep cleaned from toys to toothbrush holders. Try it and you won’t regret it!
  1. Dust the areas you typically forget about: Lamp shades, window curtains, picture frames and even pillows can trap dust. Throw drapes, window curtains and pillows into the dryer to rid of dust and give it an extra fluff.
  1. Degrease kitchen cabinets: What’s worse than dust? Kitchen grime, a mix of dust and grease that haunts your kitchen after you cook. Grab a cleaner and cloth and scrub the cabinets to de-gunk your kitchen. Don’t forget areas around the door, drawer pulls and near your stove.
  1. Deep clean the family’s drawers: Start with one bedroom at a time and if the clothes haven’t been worn in a year then toss it or donate!
  1. Get rid of grimy grout: Start from the tile floors to the shower, grime can hide anywhere around kitchens and bathrooms. For a quick fix, mix three-fourths cup household chlorine bleach with one gallon water. Use a stiff brush to scrub; only using a small amount on areas. Let it sit for a few minutes, scrub and rinse.
