Marilyn Bowen, owner and developer of Flint River Preserve, joins host Todd Schnick on the All About Real Estate edition of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio.
Prior to Flint River Preserve, Marilyn was working in the mortgage banking industry in Jacksonville, FL for 25 years. She decided to make the move in 2007 to purchase 562 acres on the Flint River in Warwick, GA with her late husband, Jake. While relocating to Georgia Marilyn became a certified wildlife rehabilitator to indulge in her love for animals.
The story behind Flint River Preserve is quite fascinating, especially with such a big piece of land and a sweet couples dream. The property was separated into 376 acres and 186 acres. They had the 376 acres rezoned to a Residential/Commercial Planned Unit Development in March 2009. This was the first development of this kind in Worth County. Following this rezoning, Jake and Marilyn began the permitting process to build the development known today as, Flint River Preserve.
Flint River Preserve was named the first green-certified development in the state of Georgia by the National Association of Home Builder (NAHB). As a NAHB green-certified community, Flint River Preserve provides residents with opportunities for a relaxing and healthy way-of-life.
Currently, Flint River Preserve is selling home sites to interested home buyers, as well as builders. This is a great opportunity for builders to take advantage of a spectacular piece of riverfront property. With three different home site locations to choose from, Riverfront, Estate and Village, builders will have endless possibilities for creating the perfect second home or getaway for buyers to indulge in.
