Atlanta Climate Week will make its debut Oct. 10-15, 2026, bringing climate leaders, businesses, innovators, academics and community organizations together for a week of events focused on sustainability and climate resilience across metro Atlanta.
The inaugural Atlanta Climate Week will feature speaker events, community activities, action days and climate innovation programs designed to connect people working on environmental and resilience initiatives throughout the region.
The week is part of the global Climate Week Network, which connects more than 30 climate weeks around the world.
“Atlanta Climate Week will unite changemakers, innovators, and communities to transform bold ideas into climate action,” said Michael Hawthorne, head of planning for Atlanta Climate Week. “The week will feature a keynote innovation event with six panels tapping the knowledge of the region’s top climate and sustainability leaders.”
What Is Atlanta Climate Week?
Atlanta Climate Week is a new metro Atlanta event focused on the region’s climate, sustainability and resilience efforts. Organizers say the week will provide opportunities for businesses, government leaders, community organizations and residents to exchange ideas and develop partnerships around climate-related solutions.
The programming aligns with several of Atlanta’s climate and resilience goals, including:
- Reaching 100% clean energy for all Atlantans by 2035
- Reducing greenhouse gas emissions 59% by 2030 and reaching net zero by 2050
- Expanding access to fresh, affordable food within a half-mile of every Atlantan by 2030
- Reducing energy burdens for vulnerable households
- Building a connected, multimodal transportation system
Atlanta Chief Sustainability Officer Chandra Farley said the city already has a growing network of founders, organizers and advocates working on climate and clean-energy initiatives.
“The inaugural Atlanta Climate Week will put our global climate action leadership on full display,” Farley said.
Atlanta Climate Week Keynote Innovation Event
The centerpiece of Atlanta Climate Week will be a daylong Innovation Event on Monday, Oct. 12, at SCADshow, 1470 Spring St. NW in Atlanta.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and feature keynote speakers, six panel discussions and a fireside chat covering topics ranging from sustainable business and healthy communities to transportation, real estate and the built environment.
Keynote speakers
The morning will begin with remarks from Chandra Farley, Atlanta’s chief sustainability officer and U.S. Rep. Nikema Williams, representing Georgia’s 5th Congressional District.
Sustainable Business and Corporate Leadership
The first panel will examine topics including ESG, the circular economy, sustainable supply chains, responsible business practices and innovation. Panelists include representatives from Coca-Cola, Rivian and Interface.
Healthy and Resilient Communities
The second panel will focus on public health, air quality, green spaces and food access, with Jay Dennard, president of the GHS Foundation and senior vice president of governmental and community affairs at Northside Hospital.
Sustainable Fashion
A panel focused on sustainable fashion will explore the relationship between the fashion industry, innovation and public narratives. Participants include leaders from SCAD, Vertical Active Wear and Notorious 111.
Mobility and Transportation
Transportation programming will examine public transit, sustainable aviation and smart mobility, with speakers from Delta Air Lines, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and EVNoire/Mobility Intelligence Consulting Group.
The Built Environment
The built environment panel will be particularly relevant to Atlanta’s real estate and development community. The discussion will address sustainable buildings, green infrastructure, architecture and real estate development. Panelists include representatives from Southface Institute, JLL and Atlanta Housing.
Entertainment and Sports Influence
The final panel will explore how entertainment and sports can influence public conversations around climate action and sustainable innovation. Speakers include representatives from Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Klean Energy Kulture and Renaissance 94. The Innovation Event will close with a fireside chat featuring Michael Chanin, CEO of Cherry Street Energy.

Saturday, Oct. 10: Atlanta Climate Week Kickoff Celebration, 6-11 p.m. at the Goodie Nation office at The Willoughby.
Sunday, Oct. 11: “Climate, Canopy & Community,” featuring a short nature hike along Lake Allatoona followed by a plant-based community potluck lunch. The event runs from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Red Top Mountain State Park in Acworth.
Sunday, Oct. 11: “A Resilient Future” premiere, a documentary exploring how nearby landscapes can contribute to the Earth’s recovery. The screening will take place from 2-4 p.m. at Tara Theater.
Monday, Oct. 12: “Why the 2026 Midterms are the Most Important Climate Action Opportunity of the Decade,” a virtual event from 1-2 p.m.
Monday, Oct. 12: “A Flooded City: Rethinking Infrastructure and Climate Resilience in Metro Atlanta,” from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at 1442 Richland Road SW.
Wednesday, Oct. 14: Drawdown Georgia Business Compact All Hands, from 3-5 p.m. at Sheller Tower, 55 5th St. NW.
Thursday, Oct. 15: 2026 Southface Visionary Awards, celebrating sustainability leaders, from noon-2 p.m. at the Georgia Aquarium.
Thursday, Oct. 15: 2026 Climate Resilient ATL Roadshow, hosted by the Mayor’s Office of Sustainability and Resilience, from 6-8 p.m. at Rivian, 675 Ponce de Leon Ave.
