The long-awaited Atlanta Top 25 Home Builders for 2023 list is now out. We ran the numbers, courtesy of MarketNsight, and the results are compiled. Atlanta home builders included in the list are ranked by the number of homes closed in 2023 in the metro Atlanta real estate market. Note these rankings do not include any build-to-rent homes and only represent owner-occupied sales in 2023.

“The availability of land and lots continues to influence home builder rankings in metro Atlanta,” comments John Hunt, Principal and Chief Analyst with MarketNsight. “You can’t sell homes without developed lots!”

D.R. Horton Inc. again tops the list, with Pulte Homes at No. 2 and a tie at No. 3 between Lennar Atlanta and Smith Douglas Homes. This year, the top 8 home builders are national companies, with NYSE-traded Smith Douglas Homes recently joining them as a publicly traded company.

A number of large privately held building companies make the list, including Rocklyn Homes Inc., Rockhaven Homes, McKinley Homes, Piedmont Residential, Direct Residential, Kolter Homes, Wingate Custom Homes and Traton Homes, to name a few.
