Congratulations to Frank Wickstead for winning Georgia Tech’s 2010 Environmental Leadership Award!

Wickstead is the owner of WicksteadWorks, an Atlanta-based remodeling company. The award was given during Georgia Tech’s Earth Day celebration in April. The Environmental Leadership Award is bestowed each year upon an individual or group that has proven a long-term commitment to improving the environment, and can back that up with an extended body of work. Wickstead has been involved in high performance and green building for over 10 years.

Wickstead is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Building Construction at  Georgia Tech.

Aside from the Environmental Leadership Award, WicksteadWorks has received numerous designations in the past, including 2009 and 2010 EarthCraft Renovator of the Year by the Greater Atlanta Home Builder’s Association and the SouthFace Energy Institute.

WicksteadWorks also received a 2007 OBIE award for Best Renovation. For that prize, a whole 1930’s bungalow was overhauled into a modern, energy-efficient home. Not only was efficiency upgraded, the architectural integrity of the home was preserved.

WicksteadWorks has also been featured on Renovation Nation, a program on the Planet Green channel, for innovative water conservation and rainwater reuse techniques in another project.
