Alan Kilpatrick, Associate Artistic Director with the Atlanta Lyric Theatre, joins host Todd Schnick and co host Carol Morgan on the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio show’s Around Atlanta edition to discuss the West Side Story.

Atlanta Lyric Theatre, Atlanta’s only local professional musical theater company, was formed in 1980 by Tedi and Robert Langdon and Sally Knap as the Southeastern Savo yards, a repertory theatre company dedicated to presenting the works of Gilbert and Sullivan.

The next show coming to the theatre opens tomorrow, June 10, 2016 which is the iconic, West Side Story. West Side Story is one of the most memorable musicals and greatest love stories of all time. Arthur Laurents’ book remains as powerful, poignant and timely as ever. The Bernstein and Sondheim score is considered to be one of Broadway’s finest and features beloved American musical theatre classics including “Something’s Coming,” “Tonight,” “America,” “I Feel Pretty” and “Somewhere.” The world’s greatest love story takes to the streets in this landmark Broadway musical that is one of the theatre’s finest accomplishments.

Loosely based on Romeo and Juliet, this iconic show is still pertinent in today’s world and has meaning for everyone.
