For more than 30 years, Make-A-Wish® has been granting wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. For more than nine years, the Make-A-Wish® Georgia chapter has been raising funds to cover the average $8,000 it takes to grant a single wish through their Walk for Wishes. This year’s Walk for Wishes will be held on Saturday, April 20 at Turner Field.
Beginning at 8 a.m. there will be a fun run and the two mile walk begins at 9 a.m. Afterwards, participants will enjoy festivities, refreshments and entertainment as you celebrate the impact that granting wishes has on the lives of our community’s children.
One of the non-profit’s and the walk’s biggest supporters is regional homebuilder Wilson Parker Homes. Last year, they raised more than $10,000, thanks to contributions from generous donors such as Marketing RELEVANCE. This year, they hope to raise even more as part of their mission to give children a healthier future.
