Atlanta Real Estate Forum congratulates Victor Westbrook with Meritage Homes for being named the 2020 Salesperson of the Year at the 40th Annual OBIE Awards. Presented by the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council, the OBIE Awards are the premier awards given to those working in the Atlanta new home construction industry.
When Willowcrest officially opened in Mableton just before Christmas in 2019, the sales and operations teams had high hopes of it being a success with Victor leading the way. A short six months after opening, he had already amassed 56 net sales, 36% of the community’s 156 total lots. Prior to Victor’s transition to Willowcrest, he helped grow the community interest list to over 1,300 and had racked up a total of 80 net sales from June 15, 2019 to June 15, 2020, equating to $26,901,353 in sales.
Victor’s selling technique is focused primarily on spending time understanding buyers’ wants and needs and using the golden rule to ‘treat others as you would want them to treat you.’ He does this by facilitating a genuine conversation with buyers to build their trust and having them share their needs, wants and concerns, all while presenting himself as the expert they can trust.
He responds quickly to customers and clients and anticipates their wishes rather than merely responding to them. In doing so, the buyer’s perception is that he genuinely cares about them as an individual, not just as a sales opportunity. Between June 2019 and June 2020, he received a total of 34 closing surveys with an average 95% satisfaction score.

Victor, along with another Sales Counselor, sang a rendition of the national anthem and was recognized by the builder’s CEO/founder for his astounding performance.
