Traton Homes was recognized at the 41st annual OBIE Awards by winning a personal achievement award for Best Sales Team and a Silver OBIE for Best Building Design Attached Model. The OBIE Awards, presented by the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council on behalf of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, recognize outstanding achievements within the homebuilding industry and serve as the premier awards given in the Atlanta new home construction industry.
“We are so very honored to have been recognized at this year’s OBIE Awards gala with a personal achievement award for Best Sales Team and a Best Building Design award for our Brooks model home,” said Kimberly Garwood, director of marketing for Traton Homes. “These awards add to the nearly 60 OBIE Awards Traton has been awarded over the years and we couldn’t be more excited.”
Onsite agents Dawn Stowers and Tammy Weniger were named the Sales Team of the Year. As the onsite team for Edgemoore at Milford, Stowers and Weniger worked to provide the best customer service to home buyers at Edgemoore at Milford, a community of 94 townhomes in Marietta. The agents were also hands-on with the construction side of the business, working with the community builders in a team-oriented approach. The team’s cohesiveness ensured customers felt comfortable throughout the purchase and building process, reinforcing their decision to choose Traton Homes.
Perhaps the most impressive part of what this dynamic duo achieved related to how they adapted during the COVID-19 pandemic. The community opened strong in February 2020 with a goal of selling 26 homes that year, but the team was quickly forced to adapt just one month later. By selling virtually over Zoom and continuing to adapt quickly to change as shutdowns and restrictions continually changed, the team sold 42 homes in 2020, 121% over their goal of 26 homes for the year.
As the market continued to expand at a rapid pace in 2021, the team switched to presales and again adapted by creating an innovative spreadsheet to manage the considerable number of sales. The helpful tracker was used during meetings with the builders to ensure everyone working in the community was on the same page, one of the many reasons their customer service performance numbers were among the best in the company.
Traton Homes also won a Silver OBIE Award in the Best Building Design – Attached Model ($300,000 to $399,999) category for the popular Brooks plan at Edgemoore at Milford. Showcased as one of the community’s decorated model homes, the Brooks townhome plan includes 1,800 square feet of living space, three bedrooms and two-and-a-half bathrooms. This plan was immensely popular, with 65 out of 94 buyers in Phase One choosing the Brooks plan.
With beautiful curb appeal and efficient design, the Brooks is an ideal plan for entertaining and gathering thanks to its open floor plan and gourmet kitchen with oversized island. A few of the features that make this home so popular include 9-foot ceilings on the first floor, an optional fireplace, abundance of windows offering natural light, spacious secondary bedrooms, and more. In addition, a second-story loft offers flexible living space that can function a variety of ways, including as a home office, sitting area, homework station, coffee bar area or even a second TV viewing space.
