James Creek - Top Atlanta Neighborhood 2012

Recent Metrostudy reports have listed the top new home communities for 2012 in the Atlanta area based on closings during the recently ended calendar year. These numbers were based on deed recordings from throughout the greater Atlanta Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA).

The top Atlanta new home communities, ranked by closings in 2012 are:

  • James Creek (Forsyth)
  • Sun City Peachtree (Spalding)
  • The Villages at Deaton Creek (Hall)
  • Bridgetowne (Forsyth)
  • Cresswind at Lake Lanier (Hall)
  • Cedar Grove (Fulton, South)
  • Oakley Township (Fulton, South)
  • Bullsboro Crossing (Coweta)
  • West Village (Cobb)
  • Sugarloaf Village West (Gwinnett)
  • Hanover Pointe (Forsyth)
  • Glenn Ivey (Forsyth)
  • Woodstock Knoll (Cherokee)
  • Centennial (Cherokee)
  • Glenridge Heights (Fulton, North)

The top selling community, James Creek is primarily targeted toward traditional family buyers. Three of the top five communities, Sun City Peachtree, The Villages at Deaton Creek and Cresswind at Lake Lanier are heavily amenity laden 55+ active adult communities.

The appearance of neighborhoods in the southern arc locations of South Fulton, Spalding and Coweta Counties is encouraging for continued recovery for the new home market on that side of Atlanta.
