The Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council congratulates Thrive Homes, LLC for winning a Gold OBIE in the Residential Remodeling – Whole House Renovation ($250,000 to $500,000) category for a home on South McDonough Street in Decatur. The OBIE Awards are the premier awards in the new home construction industry.

In undertaking this remodeling project, Thrive Homes sought to restore a classic Tudor Bungalow to its original character and charm while maximizing the potential of the property and blending modern conveniences with historic characteristics. Thrive Homes transformed a segmented bungalow floor plan, dated by today’s standards, and created a very functional, open floor plan with a second story addition.

This home was transformed to enhance both form and function with an eye for detail – expanding upon the original characteristics of the home with custom millwork to match, replacing the original arched front door with a replica and incorporating new, energy efficient windows. The second story addition offers a spacious master suite and bath with honed marble double vanity sinks and a freestanding tub and shower. The exterior charm of the original home was preserved and incorporated into the new façade.
