The state of Georgia has long been known as an excellent place for retirees, empty-nesters and active adults, and this status was confirmed in 55 Places most recent ranking of the top active adult communities in the country. This year’s list of the 100 Most Popular Active Adult Communities in 2014 includes three communities located in metro Atlanta.
Communities are ranked on this prestigious list based on the number of visitors to each community’s page on 55Places.com throughout the past year. For the second year in a row, The Villages in central Florida holds the top spot, while the top 10 is comprised of mostly coastal communities.
Sun City Peachtree, an active adult community from Del Webb in Griffin, holds the No. 39 spot and is the highest-ranked Georgia community on the list. At this unique community, home prices range from the $140,000s to the low $300,000s, and residents have a wide variety of amenities to enjoy.
The amenities at Sun City Peachtree include a stunning clubhouse, Canongate 18-hole golf course, 45,000 square foot amenity center and an active social scene with more than 30 clubs and interest groups.
The No. 81 spot on this year’s list is held by Village at Deaton Creek, another Del Webb community, which can be found in Hoschton. Here, homes range in price from $250,000 to the high $300,000s, and are nestled at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
