President of TempSmart Staffing Solutions, Rich Davis, and Atlanta Division Manager, Scott Doig, are in studio for today’s episode of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio. Joined by co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick, the group discusses how TempSmart got started, the services it offers and why it is a great staffing solution for many builders in the area on this All About Real Estate segment of Radio.
Davis has over 25 years of experience in the home building industry. Working his way from on-site sales to sales and marketing management, all the way up to the executive vice president, Davis knows the ins and outs of several different aspects of the new home building industry.
Doig came to TempSmart about two years ago from Berkshire Hathaway. Doig is a licensed Realtor with several years of experience. However, before venturing into the real estate industry, Doig spent 30 years with Bank of America. While there, he specialized in contract negotiation and relationship management.
Davis created TempSmart in 2008 after the housing market crash. The company expanded, originating in Charlotte, North Carolina and spreading throughout the Southeast. TempSmart currently has several locations in three different states.
“The purpose of our company is to provide professional, temporary staffing and placement specializing in the new home industry,” said Davis. “The bulk of our business is supplying on-site sales assistance to our builder clients who have gone through extensive onboarding training.”
With a goal of providing builders with highly-qualified individuals with extensive backgrounds in real estate, the typical employee is a licensed Realtor with many years of experience selling new homes. TempSmart helps with new home sales assistants, administrative support, general office assistance, full-service staffing and more.
Although TempSmart offers temporary staffing, if a company or organization finds a good match, the position can become permanent. This means a full-time permanent position could come out of the temporary placement.
“We’ve got several examples of clients who used to manage their entire staff internally,” said Doig. “But, they came to realize that it is far easier, and even cheaper, for them to just manage your full-time staff and let us provide talented professional staffing to fill in the gaps created by vacation, sick days, days off and other time where they might be facing a gap in their staffing.”
