As students prepare to head back to school on Monday, Henry County residents at Heron Bay Golf and Country Club are excited to send their children to a brand new, state-of-the-art high school! The new Hampton High School will open its doors for the first day of class on Monday, Aug. 4, when it will present a new of thinking about education to students and parents.
This school, which was created in part with grants from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, offers a truly personalized learning experience. Featuring 100 percent student workstations in every classroom, the school will have no set schedule or bells. At Hampton High School, students, referred to as learners, will be expected to play an active role and be given significant choice related to what, when, where and how they learn. They must be active, self-regulated participants in the design and development of their learning and they should be invested in the creation of their learning plans based on their interests, strengths, passions and aspirations.
In addition to Hampton High School, children residing in Heron Bay’s Henry County neighborhoods will attend Bethlehem Elementary, Luella Middle and Luella High schools. Spalding County residents will attend Jordan Hill Road Elementary, Kennedy Road Middle and Spalding High schools.
