Stephen Haines recently joined Mark Spain Real Estate (MSRE) as the Regional VP of Expansion Operations. In this new position, he is responsible for growing Mark Spain Real Estate’s expansion efforts outside of Atlanta in the Carolinas, Nashville, and more! Congratulations to both Stephen and Mark!

During Haines’ expansive career in the new homes industry, he has worked for an impressive list of national and regional builders including Beazer Homes, Meritage Homes, John Wieland Homes & Neighborhoods, PulteGroup, Centex Homes and KB Home. In addition to his work with home builders, he managed a Helzberg Diamond store for a number of years — now we know why he has that special sparkle!
Haines holds an accounting degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and an MBA from the University of Houston’s C.T. Bauer College of Business.
The father of seven, Haines believes in giving back. He has served as the Chairman of the Board for Supporting Adoption & Foster Families Together (SAFT). In 2014, he led the PulteGroup team to provide a home for U.S. Army Sgt. Perry Haley. This project was through PulteGroup’s Built to Honor program and Operation FINALLY HOME. During the build, Haines stated, “Haley is a testament to courage, tenacity and valor, and we hope this home will ease his struggles and provide him with security and peace of mind as they raise their beautiful children.”
Mark Spain Real Estate was recently named the No. 1 real estate team in the United States by REAL Trends. The Thousand Top Real Estate Professionals is a prominent national awards ranking, and the MSRE team is listed No. 1 nationally for closed transactions and also listed on a separate REAL Trends list as No. 7 for annual closed sales volume.
MSRE achieved 2,318 transactions in 2017, with total gross sales of $550 million — its best year yet. This was a 25 percent growth rate over the team’s 2016 numbers. On average, the Mark Spain team sold more than 8 homes per business day in 2017. Only one other team on The Thousand list broke the 2,000-sale mark, demonstrating the 2,000 zone is clearly a stretch goal for real estate sales teams.
