If you picked up a copy of Atlanta Magazine’s January issue, you probably saw their special section titled “Senior Voices.” You also probably saw a familiar community name: Soleil Laurel Canyon.

Two Soleil residents, Jane and Nat Copenhaver, who moved to Soleil from Bristol in March 2014, were interviewed by the magazine to discuss why they chose to move to Soleil and all the great amenities the community offers.

“My husband said that if he was going to leave Bristol, he wanted to come to a place that had some interesting things to do,” says Jane. “In addition to being near the children, the activities were very important (…) The clubhouse at Soleil has endless activities depending on one’s interests.”

Jane regularly takes watercolor classes, low-impact aerobic classes twice per week and plays pickleball with Nat as well. Nat is an avid golfer as a member of the Soleil’s men’s golf league.

But the best thing about Soleil according to the Copenhavers? The people who live there. The Soleil First Friday events encourage residents to come meet and greet new residents, as well as mix and mingle with their friends in a friendly setting. This is where Nat and Jane were able to meet many members of the community and develop friendships.
