Socially Distanced Things to Do in Roswell This Weekend

It is a beautiful weekend to spend in Roswell! Take a break from the week and spend some time out of the house. Even with social distancing in place, Roswell has found a way to keep the fun alive for its residents while still maintaining all safety guidelines.

If you are looking for something fun to add to your weekend plans, check out these exciting events happening around town:

Butterfly EncounterJuly 16 through August 2 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Experience the colors of hundreds of native butterflies at and blooming flowers at the Chattahoochee Nature Center’s Butterfly Encounter. Photo opportunities are available along with the opportunity to purchase nectar and host plants. Visitors must make a timed reservation prior to visiting.

Drive-In Movies: ET and Iron Man at Aurora CineplexJuly 17 through July 18 at 9:30 p.m.
Nothing is quite as classic as an old fashioned, drive-in movie under the stars. This weekend, the Aurora Cineplex is showing ET on Friday and Iron Man on Saturday night. Popcorn and concessions will be available!

The Curtis Lowe ProjectJuly 17 at 8 p.m.
Live music is back at Gypsy Rose with appropriate social distancing measures in place. Come rock out to Curtis Lowe for one of the Southeast’s Best Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute acts. Attendees can also listen to acoustic music on the patio before the show, as well as music from a live DJ afterward.

Punchcard Machine DemoJuly 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturdays are always a good day to visit the Computer Museum of America. Every first Saturday of the month (this Saturday), the museum will be hosting a demo of an IBM punchcard machine. Visitors will be able to type out a souvenir punchcard on the machine, free with admission, as well as visit the museum’s other many exhibits.

FTE Beer Garden Tap TakeoverJuly 18 from 2 to 5 p.m.
Join Gate City Brewery for a tap takeover on the river. Not only can attendees enjoy good brews from Gate City, but they can also enjoy a follow-up concert from New Vintage. Social distancing measures will be enforced.
