Privately owned regional home builder Smith Douglas Homes (SDH) welcomed its 10,000th customer home on March 1, 2022! Ranked as metro Atlanta’s 5th largest building company by Atlanta Real Estate Forum and MarketNsight, SDH is recognized as one of the top 10 fastest-growing private home builders. Smith Douglas Homes is currently ranked No. 42 on the Builder 100 List.
On a celebratory Facebook post, the home builder states, “To us it’s more than just the number: a new home is a place for life’s memories to be made. Whether you are wanting a new home to bring family close, for a new beginning, or for a retreat you can personalize, we are here for it!”
SDH closed its first home on March 30, 2009 – a Campbell ranch at Ballentine Pointe in Hiram, Georgia for $129,500. The company has come a long way since then! The home builder’s mission is to provide the opportunity for homeownership by efficiently building affordable homes of enduring value. Something we think they do well!
The 10,000th home is located at Victory Place in Cherokee County. The homebuyer, Nelson and his family had been renting a home in Acworth for the past 3 years while saving to purchase a new Buffington home plan and they couldn’t be more excited to make their dream a reality. The Buffington is a top-selling plan of Smith Douglas Homes with Atlanta alone building over 1,300 of them since 2009.
As part of the Smith Douglas Homes celebration, SDH is giving back to the community by supporting the Never Alone Food Pantry, a Woodstock-based, non-profit organization dedicated to fighting hunger by providing free food to individuals and families facing financial struggles. Last year, Never Alone served over 10,000 families in Cherokee, Cobb, Bartow and Pickens counties, areas where Smith Douglas Homes builds. You can participate by dropping off canned food at any SDH community during the month of March or by donating at www.neveralone.org.
