David Hagan, sales manager with Smith Douglas Homes, joins Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio on today’s episode of All About Real Estate Radio. Joined by co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick, the group dives into the unique products offered by Smith Douglas Homes, where to find these homes and how they are different from other types of homes in and around the metro Atlanta area.
Hagan, a Savannah native, moved to Atlanta almost two years ago with his wife of 27 years and three daughters. Hagan is no stranger to sales, as he has worked in sales leadership roles dealing with new homes for over a decade. Hagan was first introduced to the Atlanta Market about seven years ago when he was asked to judge the OBIEs. Presented by the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council, the OBIE Awards are the premier awards given to those working in the Atlanta new home construction industry.

The median price of new construction homes in the Atlanta market is around $265,000. Often, buyers think finding a price below $200,000 is impossible. Smith Douglas has positioned itself where they can not only offer prices in that range, but it can do it well with the construction of high-quality homes. Smith Douglas offers several townhomes and single-family homes ranging from the $100,000s to the $300,000s. In 2019, 20% of the homes sold by Smith Douglas Homes were under $200,000.
Currently, Smith Douglas Homes is building in over 30 different communities around the metro Atlanta area. A majority of the homes in these communities are single-family ranch-style homes. The builder has distinguished itself amongst other popular builders in the area by perfecting the single-level homes as opposed to two-story homes. Single-story ranch-style homes are increasingly popular across various demographics.
