The new firm will provide consulting and green certification services for single- and multi-family residences, as well as code compliance inspections, curriculum development, technical writing, training and education, and utility energy efficiency program development.

The team behind SK Collaborative already has a long list of exceptional work, including LEED for Homes certification of Fairmount Townhomes, which were built for the Chattanooga, Tenn. housing authority and the Chi Phi Fraternity house at the University of Georgia. The team also secured Enterprise Green Communities Certification for the historic renovation of the Briarcliff Summit Apartments in Atlanta. Carl Seville and Abe Kruger, principles of the firm, co-authored the book Green Building: Principles and Practices in Residential Construction, which is the first college textbook on the subject of residential green building. They were also the lead writers of the LEED for Homes Version 4 Reference Guide.

After a successful career in building, Carl Seville has spent the last 10 years working with architects, contractors, developers and homeowners to make existing and new homes, as well as multi-family buildings, healthy, green, efficient and sustainable. Firm principle Abe Kruger held positions at both Southface Energy Institute and Sealing Agents, and he now focuses on consulting, certification, green building training and curriculum development for colleges and universities, businesses, utilities and nonprofit organizations.
