The Sales and Marketing Council (SMC) of the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (GAHBA) invites you to roll the dice at its annual Silent Auction. Featuring a casino theme complete with popular gaming tables, this year’s event promises to be the best one yet. Before you dress in your finest cocktail attire and call on lady luck though, the SMC is still in need of fabulous donations that will help make the event a success.

Over the past 16 years, the SMC has raised more than $62,000 to support worthwhile charities helping children and adults in need by hosting the silent auction. This year, the proceeds will benefit HomeAid Atlanta, the charity organization of the GAHBA. HomeAid Atlanta builds and maintains dignified housing for homeless families and individuals in the hopes of helping them rebuild their lives.

The key to a successful silent auction is the items donated, and creativity is always welcome. While cash donations are always welcome, here is a list of donations that have been hits in the past:

  • Vacation trips/rentals
  • Electronics
  • Airfare
  • Art
  • Gift cards
  • Sporting event tickets
  • Golf outings
  • Jewelry
  • Sports memorabilia
  • Event tickets

Each generous donor will receive recognition at the silent auction, on the HBA website and in HomeAid Atlanta’s e-newsletter, as well as a tax-deductible donation receipt. If you are interested in providing a donation for this year’s silent auction, contact Joy James at 770-861-4235 or Rose Humphrey at 770-670-2757. Donations must be received by Friday, September 13.

The 2013 Silent Auction and Casino Night will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 from 7 until 10 p.m. at Villa Christina. Tickets are $45 per person or $80 per couple, and there will be an additional $10 walk-in fee for those that do not pre-register.

For more information on the event or to register, visit the GAHBA website at www.AtlantaHomeBuilders.com.
