CEO and Co-Founder of Rivet, Meredith Harris, is in the studio for today’s episode of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio. Joined by co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick, the group discusses the Rivet communication app and how it is helping the new construction industry organize information and finish projects more efficiently with its variety of useful features.
Harris worked in the tech industry her whole career, starting back in 2007. She worked with various companies, including Microsoft, prior to landing with the neighborhood hub app, Nextdoor. At Nextdoor, Harris worked to build projects for local businesses. This task is what got her interested in the construction industry and communication in general.
With a focus on the homebuilding industry and its participants, Rivet helps to facilitate communication between all individuals or parties involved in a project. This includes real estate agents, homeowners, subcontractors, vendors and anyone else that collaborates on home builds. Projects run best when communication is transparent and Rivet is helping to do just that by providing an organized space where everyone can communicate, record documentation and maintain a more collaborative work environment.
Rivet offers several app features to help simplify communication between construction project participants. The automated follow-up feature allows individuals to set follow up reminders for both themselves and others, while the automated upload and sort feature helps workers to upload photos to be auto sorted into relevant projects based on the location of the photo. The app also has a feature that helps with language barriers by translating messages between English and Spanish in real-time, as well as a location service that uses geofencing to help notify when workers enter and leave the worksite.
According to Harris, the app is continuing to develop based on customer needs. The team at Rivet is currently working on building out geofencing services for easier accessibility, as well as coming up with ways for users to use tagging to more easily find and access information. Rivet is still in its beta phase and is free to download at www.joinrivet.com/download. The app will be closing its beta phase towards the end of November, meaning interested businesses and organizations are encouraged to contact the Rivet team at help@joinrivet.com to help with setup and onboarding.
