The rebounding real estate market has ripple effects across Atlanta, including a lack of inventory across different price points. Adam Corder with RedRoc Homes talks with co-hosts Courtney Rogers and Todd Schnick on today’s segment of All About Real Estate on Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio to discuss how his new venture aims to fill a need.
Corder has spent more than 20 years in the real estate industry, starting out flipping houses and then launching entry-level builders in the Atlanta market. He says that those years of experience gave him the ideas that underpin RedRoc Homes, an entry level home builder focusing on first-time buyers and renters.
“An entry level home is $250,000 or under,” in the Atlanta area, Corder says, and there “isn’t enough inventory” of that kind. These homes will combine the best ideas from his years of experience into homes that offer more luxury features at affordable prices. “These will be more exurban,” according to Corder, since that is where land is cheaper. His first community is under contract in Paulding County.
Standard features, like granite kitchen countertops and 9-foot ceilings, are included in each of the home plans, which would have been considered upgrades 20 years ago. The way RedRoc Homes delivers this is by streamlining building. Rather than adding customization, RedRoc builds homes along a factory mindset, each plan made exactly the same way. Upgrades and changes significantly affect costs, which in turn affects mortgages and monthly payments. By doing away with options and building with desirable features, Corder says they will meet the demand for well-built homes with luxury features at prices his buyers can afford.
