OBIEs Trophies

Atlanta Real Estate Forum congratulates Randy McMichael, co-founder of McMichael & Gray, PC, for being named the 2019 Attorney Professional of the Year at the 39th Annual OBIE Awards. Presented by the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council, the OBIE Awards are the premier awards given to those working in the Atlanta new home construction industry.

Randy McMichaelRandy McMichael co-founded McMichael & Gray, PC in December 2006. With no offices, equipment, employees or operations, Randy went to Sonny Deavours from Brayson Homes. Brayson Homes was one of the largest home builders in metro Atlanta at the time. With very little to offer, Sonny took a chance on Randy and became McMichael & Gray’s first client. Through Randy’s focus on customer service and word of mouth, more builders came on board. With a small group of home builders forming McMichael & Gray, PC’s core clientele, McMichael & Gray, PC opened its first office in Lawrenceville.

McMichael & Gray’s bread and butter has always been working with residential home builders. Randy has always focused on continuously improving the firm’s operations to better serve the builder community. His focus on customer service and putting people first has led McMichael & Gray to work with more builders in metro Atlanta than any other law firm in the state of Georgia. From 2014 to today, Randy helped McMichael and Gray expand from having only three offices in Georgia to now having 14 in Georgia, one in North Carolina, one in Florida, one in Alabama and soon to be an office in Tennessee. For five years in a row, McMichael & Gray has been awarded the Atlanta Business Chronicle’s Pacesetter Award for being the fastest growing real estate law firm in Georgia.

Very early on, Randy knew he wanted to get involved and give back to the builder community that had given him so much over the years. He got involved with the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association and asked other employees to also get involved, which they have all done in a big way. In addition to supporting the GAHBA, Randy makes sure to also give back to other organizations and charities. He is one of the largest contributors to HomeAid Atlanta (the designated charity of the GAHBA, and is a local chapter of HomeAid America, a leading national provider of transitional housing for the temporarily homeless). Furthermore, Randy brings all of his builder clients and friends together annually for a social event to raise money for different charities including CURE Childhood Cancer, Promise 686, LightHouse Family Retreat, Gwinnett and Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and many more.
