Atlanta Real Estate Forum congratulates Phil Gressly with Atlanta Roofing Supply for being the recipient of the 2016 Associate of the Year Award presented by the Greater Atlanta HBA during this year’s OBIE Awards. Presented by the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council, the OBIE Awards are the premier awards given in the Atlanta new home construction industry.

The simple act of cleaning construction sites and sweeping homes for builders in his neighborhood is how Phil began his building career. His hard work soon transitioned into his life-long career as a builder and roofing supplier in the homebuilding industry.

Phil has served on the HBA Board of Directors for eleven years, as well as the Home Builders Association of Georgia. Beginning his participation in the HBA as a home builder, Phil quickly shifted into an associate member role and then in 2015, he was named a Life Director. He was honored in 2007 as the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s Chapter President and has served as President of the HBA’s Cobb Chapter for three straight years. Phil’s ambitious attitude has made him a vibrant leader by encouraging membership and growing the HBA’s Builder’s Political Action Committee (B-PAC), which is a voluntary non-profit organization that supports the goals of the homebuilding industry.

As a dedicated member to the building industry, Phil has also been recognized by other organizations.  In 2005, he was given the title of Builder of the Year by the Metro Brokers/GMAC Real Estate Builder- Developer Marketing Group and in 2006, he was named EarthCraft House Builder of the Year.

Phil and his company have also been proud partners of HomeAid Atlanta over the years. In 2016 alone, he donated an entire roof to help with HomeAid’s first project dedicated to helping homeless veterans. In the past years, he has also aided in putting a roof on an eight-unit apartment building in Conyers, Georgia to help single mothers and their children. In 2015, Phil donated materials to a six unit apartment building in Duluth, Georgia that provides homeless families with a safe place to rebuild their lives.

The Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s OBIE Awards celebrates its 36th anniversary in 2016. The awards began in 1980 and have grown throughout the years to include more than 100 building, remodeling, marketing and personal achievement categories. The OBIE Awards are named after the obelisk shape of the actual award given.
