Peachtree Residential Supports Clark's Christmas Kids

Peachtree Residential recently got into the Christmas spirit. For the second year in a row, the entire company decided to forgo the annual Christmas lunch and focus their time and effort on a meaningful and impactful cause. On December 13, the Peachtree Residential team spent the day at Walmart shopping for presents to present to Clark’s Christmas Kids.

For 29 years, Clark’s Christmas Kids has been helping foster kids all over Georgia have a happy and Merry Christmas. Each December, volunteers and program participants help collect toys and presents at Walmarts all over metro-Atlanta. Every foster child in the Georgia Foster Care System has the opportunity to create a Christmas list with three items totaling up to $150. Anyone wishing to help the organization traveled to a participating store, chose a child to sponsor and purchased the items on the wish list.

“With our great success last year, we were motivated to collect even more toys and help foster kids across Georgia have a happy holiday season. Peachtree Residential pledged to sponsor 10 kids as a company and many of our employees also chose to sponsor additional children as part of our donation,” said Alec Rickenbaker, president of Peachtree Residential. “Our Atlanta team had great success and topped our total donations from last year. It was a wonderful experience not only helping out these children during Christmastime, but also seeing the community come together to help support the cause. We can’t wait to support Georgia foster children again next year during Clark’s Christmas Kids.”

On December 13, 2019, Peachtree Residential’s Atlanta team travelled to the Walmart on Windward Parkway in Alpharetta. The group picked 10 different foster children to sponsor from the Clark’s Christmas tables placed at the front of the store. Then they got to shopping! After scouring the Walmart shelves for everything on the Christmas lists, the toys were brought back to the sponsoring WSB table to get wrapped and sent to the foster children.

Not only did the Peachtree Residential team sponsor 10 children, but various employees also decided to sponsor kids at the event. Joined by several members of the metro-Atlanta community, the day of giving for Clark’s Christmas Kids was a total success.
