Atlanta Real Estate Forum congratulates Jaclyn Riddle and Jorge Tello of Smith Douglas Homes for winning a Gold OBIE for Sales Team of the Year. Presented by the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council, the OBIE Awards are the premier awards given in the Atlanta new home construction industry.

Jaclyn and Jorge make a ‘dynamic duo’ of a sales team. Jorge first came to Smith Douglas as a home buyer when he purchased a home in the Longview community, which he purchased from Jaclyn. As a satisfied Smith Douglas homeowner, he believed in the quality of the homes so much that after he purchased his home, he came on board as a rookie sales agent.

Jorge arrived with no experience in new home sales whatsoever, but Jaclyn took him under her wing as an experienced agent. Since then, the two have accomplished incredible sales numbers over the past year, including 58 gross sales, 34 of which have closed and only four cancellations. That results in 54 net sales within the past year. Of those homes sold since June 15, 2014, their sales volume was $12,053,787.

That’s an accomplishment that Smith Douglas is extremely proud of, especially when considering the fact that Woodward Crossing is a smaller product with smaller lots and was a community that consistently had poor traffic for several months. Not to mention, Jaclyn was on maternity leave for three of those months while Jorge manned the community on his own.

Their sales numbers have significantly contributed to the builder’s sales goals each and every month. This resulted in a record year for Smith Douglas Homes in 2014, allowing the company to break into the Builder 100 list for the first time and making them a top 10 fastest growing builder in the country.

Having to sell out of a once ‘troubled’ community, they were forced to get creative to overcome obstacles such as low traffic numbers, unqualified traffic, buyer objections and more. To combat those issues, they worked hard to make their presence known in the local community. They visited local businesses, local broker offices and contacted old prospects that Smith Douglas had on record. On top of that, they worked with upper management to adjust their pricing and worked with marketing to secure offsite signage in key locations. Jorge even used the fact that he is bi-lingual to prospect an entirely new pool of buyers. Together, Jorge and Jaclyn successfully utilized the tools at their disposal and turned the community around. It’s almost as if a switch was flipped, and they started getting good, qualified traffic. Once that happened, the sales started coming.

Jaclyn and Jorge personify what a ‘Sales Team of the Year’ is by the way they have worked together to achieve a common goal. They have turned a community around and have solid sales numbers to prove it.
