Rajat Agarwal with Opendoor joins the studio

Homebuilder Partnership Manager Rajat Agarwal with Opendoor joins the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio podcast to share how Atlanta consumers can benefit from digital homebuying (often referred to as iBuying). Agarwal joins host Carol Morgan on the All About Real Estate segment and discusses the leading digital iBuyer platform for buying and selling real estate.

For the last three years, Agarwal worked for the Greater Atlanta Home Builders’ Association, starting in marketing and working his way up to the government affairs unit. In his new role with Opendoor, an innovative digital real estate platform, Agarwal is the newest member of the team that helps people sell, buy and move with ease and certainty.

Agarwal said, “It really took what has been a historically complex traditional home transaction and simplified it and made it convenient.”

Today, Opendoor serves 45 markets, including large cities like Los Angeles and Washington D.C. and booming metro areas such as Phoenix, Dallas, Raleigh and Atlanta.

In 2014, the company pioneered the concept of receiving an all-cash offer for a home digitally. For the first time, someone could sell their home with ultimate convenience and control over the entire process. Consumers today expect everything to be on-demand, regardless of the industry and in the real estate sector, Opendoor is helping builders meet this demand.

With Opendoor, homebuilder customers are no longer required to time up moves with their new construction home, providing a seamless transaction. Gone are the double moves, double mortgages or finding a temporary home!

Agarwal said, “We give our builder customers up to nine months of a flexible close of escrow. They can sell their home, stay…and seamlessly move out…[and] into their new home.”

From a sales perspective, calling homebuyers and informing them of a delayed closing due to supply line shortages is a hard call to make. Opendoor makes this process exponentially easier for sales associates and customers alike.

As Homebuilder Partnership Manager, Agarwal works directly with builders by visiting new home communities, listening to sales associates and experiencing first-hand how well transactions are going in the current market.
