Kelly Allison in New American Funding

Southeast Divisional Vice President with New American Funding, Kelly Allison, is in the studio for today’s episode of Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio. Joined by co-hosts Carol Morgan and Todd Schnick, the group discusses the New American Dream Initiative on this All About Real Estate segment of Radio.

Allison serves the Southeast for New American Funding and has been in the industry for 20 years. Prior to that, Allison worked in the new construction industry for several years.

“I have a real passion for homeownership and for serving our communities throughout the Southeast,” said Allison.

New American Funding is a residential lender with locations all throughout the country, spanning across 43 different states. Its president and founder, Patty Arvielo, started New American Funding with the hopes of serving the underserved. As a Latino woman, Arvielo felt a real need to get involved in the industry and serve the Latino community by creating a platform for this specific group of people. Today, New American Funding has served over 50,000 families just in 2020.

Despite the current climate surrounding the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, New American Funding is continuing to thrive and provide homeownership to many. The company continued forward with determination and reevaluated several of its programs, including down payment assistance programs.

Another program New American Funding has been promoting this year is the New American Dream Initiative. Established in 2016, the New American Dream Initiative is designed to raise awareness and increase homeownership in African American communities. Through boosting homebuyer confidence with consumer education, New American Funding is working to educate and inform the community.

“The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development did a study in 2018 and it showed that homeownership resulted in higher graduation rates, better health, net family wealth, more community involvement, decrease in crime, higher voting participation, better parks and just a sense and feeling of stability and pride,” said Allison.

Through the New American Dream Initiative, New American Funding is working to not only provide homeownership to the African American community but also to create better lives for its borrowers.
