New American Funding CEO Rick Arvielo is today’s guest on the All About Atlanta Real Estate segment of the Atlanta Real Estate Forum Radio podcast. Hosted by Carol Morgan and Todd Schick, take a listen to learn more about New American Funding’s leadership style and company culture. New American Funding is a top national mortgage provider dedicated to serving underrepresented demographics and helping families and individuals improve their quality of living.
Founded 17 years ago by Rick and Patty Arvielo, the company leads the pack regarding “serving the underserved” with a focus on Latino and African American homeowners. The company achieves this mission through various programs. According to www.newamericanfunding.com, the company created the New American Dream in 2016 to raise awareness and increase homeownership in Black communities by building consumer confidence. (Learn more about this initiative in this Radio Interview with Kim Arrington.)
New American Funding’s transformative work culture is what makes everything possible. Team members are encouraged to acknowledge one another’s emotions with respect and dignity. The emphasis on teamwork and respect creates newfound industry and customer satisfaction.
“People want to belong to something more than just a job. They want to belong to something that they believe in,” said Arvielo.
New American Funding continues to take preemptive measures to ensure customer satisfaction, especially in the technology age. Focus groups and competitor tactics inform what prospective buyers expect from mortgage lenders. With upcoming generations being technologically driven, the company plans to deliver faster, easier service in the near future.
As more millennials buy homes, Arvielo fears there will be a lack of supply to fit demand.
“Real estate cycles, up and down. The trend line is up but it does cycle,” said Arvielo. “People are going to get in at the wrong time during a bubble, and values are going to drop. They’re going to get freaked out, run away from their homes, destroy their credit, so everything they do in life is going to be more expensive and their ability to come back into homeownership is going to be delayed years beyond that.”
The real estate market continues to be impacted by COVID-19 as the economy continues to heal. Arvielo predicts a rise in inflation rates that will eventually normalize after a couple of months.
Those interested in New American Funding’s next move will be excited to learn the company is planning to create more relationships in the secondary market to replace what is being curtailed in the primary market by other companies like Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Basically, the company hopes to create an outlet where it can continue lending to people in need despite growing regulations.
