As more millennials buy homes, Arvielo fears there will be a lack of supply to fit demand.
“Real estate cycles, up and down. The trend line is up but it does cycle,” said Arvielo. “People are going to get in at the wrong time during a bubble, and values are going to drop. They’re going to get freaked out, run away from their homes, destroy their credit, so everything they do in life is going to be more expensive and their ability to come back into homeownership is going to be delayed years beyond that.”
The real estate market continues to be impacted by COVID-19 as the economy continues to heal. Arvielo predicts a rise in inflation rates that will eventually normalize after a couple of months.
Those interested in New American Funding’s next move will be excited to learn the company is planning to create more relationships in the secondary market to replace what is being curtailed in the primary market by other companies like Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae. Basically, the company hopes to create an outlet where it can continue lending to people in need despite growing regulations.
