Moore, Walsh with David Weekley Homes Named Sales Team of the Year

Atlanta Real Estate Forum congratulates Stephen Moore and Stephanie Walsh with David Weekley Homes for being named the 2020 Sales Team of the Year at the 40th Annual OBIE Awards. Presented by the Atlanta Sales and Marketing Council, the OBIE Awards are the premier awards given to those working in the Atlanta new home construction industry.

The David Weekley sales team at Enclave at Belmont in Smyrna since April 2019, Stephen and Stephanie are an undeniable force to be reckoned with. Uniting their shared dedication to providing a stellar homebuying experience with a combined 13 years of real estate experience, the two welcome guests to their community’s model home as though they were the host and hostess at a swanky soiree in their own home.

That warm, welcoming atmosphere blended with their deep knowledge of both their builder’s product and the vibrancy of the area surrounding their community has led to a gross sales volume of $14,435,711 representing 35 homes sold and a closing volume of $15,974,923 representing 38 units closed between June 2019 and June 2020. Their secret lies within the fact that Stephen and Stephanie both look to the Trust Selling Technique to get to know their customers and skillfully shepherd them through the homebuying process.

Rather than merely “sell” a home, they view their role as guides during an exciting and stressful time for their customers culminating in the achievement of their dream home. Through it all, the team looks to one another to help with questions the homebuyer may have and build relationships with visitors, fostering a positive team-based environment. To stay connected with homebuyers, the team employs everything from handwritten thank you notes to calls and emails.

They have found great success in being accessible to their clients via text message whenever needed. When it comes time to close the sale, the pair expertly utilizes open-ended questions to ensure that all of their buyers’ needs have been met, recaps all the things their buyers loved about a particular house and the community, asks if they’re ready to be a Belmont homeowner and creates a sense of urgency without ever being pushy. Their shared belief in the quality of the product they’re selling, genuine approach to their jobs and the buyers they serve and focus on making sure their buyers know they are a priority are what really sets these two apart and makes them a highly capable sales team.

Of course, both agents shine in their own right. Stephanie achieved a 100% Definitely Would Recommend score in 2019, with Stephen not far behind at 95%. Definitely Would Recommend scores are based on homebuyer surveys conducted after closing and again at 11 months of homeownership.

Stephanie was honored as 2019 Rookie of the Year by her builder’s Atlanta division, while Stephen achieved Highest Sales in Units for 4th Quarter 2019. Both had to hit the ground running at a highly popular community in desirable Smyrna. Stephen was a new transplant from Florida where the market and homebuyers’ needs/wants are quite different and he had to learn the area quickly.

Meanwhile, Stephanie was a new hire at David Weekley and had to complete her training on the job because the demand was so great. As a result, she sold three homes her first month while still learning the floor plans and the area.

It’s not unusual for Stephanie to send flowers to a buyer’s child who just had surgery or for Stephen to send a housewarming gift of a grill set for buyers who just had a grill installed or memorabilia from their favorite sports team for a buyer’s new game room. Stephen once had a buyer who was going through a death in the family that caused them to miss their Buyer Introduction Meeting.  To accommodate their schedule, he and the builder stayed until 9 p.m. one night to do an evening Buyer Introduction Meeting and even brought dinner as a demonstration of next-level care.

When it comes right down to it, the one thing that really sets Stephanie and Stephen apart is that they don’t merely seek to make their clients happy. They want them to be delighted with their new home and the journey that brought them there.
