When it comes to holidays in Atlanta one thing is for sure, there is never a lack for fantastic celebrations. And, yes, this fact is true for this coming weekend which happens to be the 4th of July.

America’s Independence Day means fireworks, right? Of course the most popular 4th of July destination for fireworks in Atlanta is Lenox Mall in Buckhead. This year’s celebration is sure to outshine any previous year because it’s the 50th anniversary for the Atlanta tradition. Hosted by Ford, there will be fun activities for all ages including a kids zone, live music, food concessions, rock-climbing wall and, of course, the largest fireworks display in the Southeast. The festivities begin at 4 p.m. and the musical entertain commences at 6 p.m. with The Regulars Band, then Sons of Sailors takes the stage at 7 and then Party on the Moon begins at 8.

Centennial Olympic Park is another option for great fireworks and a full day of family fun. Like the Lenox celebration, Centennial Olympic Park will have activities for the kids as well as live entertainment featuring Vertical Horizon. For a great view of the Centennial Olympic Park fireworks without the crowd, look to one of the surrounding restaurants, most of which are offering weekend specials. Some of Atlanta’s signature restaurants that are a part of the Downtown Dining District are offering weekend deals – Peasant Bistro, ROOM, STATS, 30 Tables and 11 Stories, Irish Bed, Paschal’s and Max Lager’s American Grill & Brewery.

Of course metro Atlanta is also full of Independence Day celebrations. A great resource for metro Atlanta 4th of July events is the Bowen Family Homes blog.

We hope you have a happy and safe 4th of July!
