Lewis Cenker Award – Dennis McConnell of Healthy House of Georgia

Dennis McConnell honored with the Lewis Cenker AwardThe 2022 Annual Installation and Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association (HBA), recently took place at the Omni Hotel at The Battery. At this year’s ceremony, Dennis McConnell of Healthy House of Georgia was presented with the prestigious Lewis Cenker Award.

Established in 1984, the Lewis Cenker Award is the most prestigious award presented by the Greater Atlanta HBA to recognize an individual’s lifetime achievements and contributions to the advancement of the housing industry. In memory of an industry icon, the award honors Mr. Lewis Cenker, the 1960 Greater Atlanta HBA President and its only member to serve as President of the National Association of Home Builders.

Dennis McConnell Lewis Senker award winner with familyThose who have been active in Atlanta’s homebuilding industry for any length of time have probably crossed paths with McConnell, a third-generation home builder. He is a pioneer in developing ecologically-oriented, energy-efficient, healthy homes and neighborhoods. His involvement with the Greater Atlanta HBA spans over 30 years, from founding president of the Inner Atlanta Chapter to serving on the Trade Contractor Partnering Guide Rewrite Committee and the executive committee. McConnell is a decorated winner of many Greater Atlanta HBA awards including the 2014 Presidential Award, 2015 Builder of the Year and numerous OBIE Awards.

In his 50-year career, McConnell’s work with the City of Atlanta permitting process has been praised for building over 400 homes, many of which are certified allergen-free “Health Homes” by the American Lung Association. His current endeavor is Pendergrast Farm, a conservation community dedicated to sustainability, health and wellness.

Best described as driven and loyal, McConnell makes a lasting, positive difference at the local, state and national levels of the housing industry. A hearty congratulations to McConnell on the distinguished honor!
